Amy Schumer Responds To Shout Out In New ‘Gilmore Girls’ Trailer

By Brent Furdyk.

New “Gilmore Girls” is coming, and now we know when the Netflix revival of the beloved series will debut: “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” will premiere on November 25, according to a new first-look preview up the upcoming reboot.

Stars Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson and series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino were on hand this morning at the TV Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills to discuss the new season, with Sherman-Palladino explaining why fans will enjoy returning to Stars Hollow: “It’s a fun trip,” she quips. “It’s worth it. There’s peanuts.”

Prior to the panel, reporters were shown a clip of the opening scene in the revival, featuring Rory (Bledel), Lorelai (Graham) in a fast-talking discussion hitting on a variety of pop-culture touchstones ranging from Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop to the Harry Chapin classic “Cat’s in the Cradle”.

Returning to Stars Hollow, said Graham, was an effortless experience. “It was literally like no time had passed,” she explained. “It was joyous. it was exhilarating. It was the old show… There was no sense of having to resuscitate something.”

She added: “It felt really emotional. It was a rare opportunity.”

Netflix also released a new trailer announcing the premiere date. Watch:

In the video, Lorelai (Graham) asks Rory (Bledel): “Do you think Amy Schumer would like me?”

In fact, Schumer herself provided the answer, via Twitter:

Rory, however, has a different opinion. “No,” she says. “Every single time I see her in a magazine, she’s on vacation, doing water sports.” To which Lorelai (apparently not a fan of water sports) makes a “oh gross” face.

Schumer has an answer for that, too:
