‘Teen Wolf’ Star Tyler Posey Declares ‘I’m Gay’ — But Isn’t Really, Issues Apology

By Brent Furdyk.

Tyler Posey stunned fans yesterday when he posted a video on Snapchat in which he apparently came out as gay — or did he?

In the video, the “Teen Wolf” star films a street sign — Gay St. — and then says: “I am this, and this is me. I’ve never felt more alive!… I’m gay!”

An MTV rep told Fusion, however, that she believes Posey used the word gay  “in the context of ‘I’m happy,’ not as a coming out.”

Posey followed that up with another Snapchat video which caused even more confusion. “Look at that thing,” he says, filming a street lamp. “Ah man, am I happy! I’ve never felt more like me than I do now! I’m lamp!”

Fans took to Twitter to speculate what exactly he meant by his Shapchats, with some bashing the actor for “mocking” the LGBTQ community.

One Twitter user wrote: “If Tyler Posey was lying about being gay, the way he was doing it felt kind of like he was mocking us? And I’m not down for that.”

Following the furor, Posey took to Twitter to clarify that he’s not actually gay, and didn’t mean to offend anyone with what he intended to be a message of support to the LGBTQ community.
