Disney is moving along with its quirky remake of the 1984 hit “Splash” and has found its leads in Channing Tatum and Jillian Bell, Deadline reports.

Tatum is set to take on Daryl Hannah’s iconic role of the mermaid while Jillian Bell will slip into Tom Hank’s role.

Imagine’s Ron Howard and Brian Grazer are set to produce the project alongside Tatum, Reid Carolin and Peter Kieran. Anna Culp will step in to executive produce.

The original picture saw Hanks play a man whose life was once saved by a mermaid (Hannah). Twenty years later, the mermaid returns and gives Hanks’ character the option to choose between his life on Earth or to join her under the sea.

The project reunites Tatum and Bell onscreen after their turn in “22 Jump Street.”
