He once sang “Never Surrender”;, but now ’80s idol Corey Hart is giving up on performing for good, when he takes to the stage May 31 one last time in his hometown, Montreal.
The farewell concert, set to take place on his 52nd birthday, will be the first in over a decade the singer-songwriter has performed live.
So why now? Corey tells ET Canada why he needed to return to the spotlight just one last time. “I started reading so many letters from people who grew up with my music, asking me to do another tour because I basically dropped off the musical scene,”; the “Sunglasses At Night”; singer tells us. “I just felt like I never performed a concert for them.”;
This last hurrah is one for the fans and the family. Corey, who left his pop career behind over a decade ago to focus on his wife and kids, says he also wants his four daughters tosee him in action: “My kids have never seen me play live, so they are very excited for May 31.”;
