Kesha filed to dismiss her sexual assault lawsuit against producer Dr. Luke on Monday, instead choosing to focus on making new music. She took to Twitter to elaborate on the situation, explaining that the fight is not yet over.
The popstar has not released a song since 2013, excluding her collaboration with Zedd titled “True Colors”. In that time, she has been bound to Luke’s label Kemosabe and Sony Music.
In a statement, her legal team said that she has recorded 28 songs at her own expense, in order to fulfill her contractual obligations: “Kesha has dismissed her California action without prejudice while she pursues her appeal and other legal claims in the New York courts. Kesha is focused on getting back to work and has delivered 28 new songs to the record label. We have conveyed to Sony Music and the label Kesha’s strong desire to release her next album and single as soon as possible.”
