Anna Kendrick makes a dazzling cover girl on the latest issue of Marie Claire UK, and in the wide-ranging interview the “Pitch Perfect” star opens up about an array of topics, including how she harnesses the power of social media.

“On social media, a lot of people say, ‘I feel like I know you,’ but if anything, that’s beneficial to me, because when I interact with people and end up saying something awkward — which I am wont to do — they get it, and they don’t feel uncomfortable. People get my sense of humour in advance.”

She also tells Marie Claire about writing her upcoming memoir, titled Scrappy Little Nobody, slated to be released in November. “I do feel like there are probably some exes who will maybe not be thrilled. But all I can say is, it was my perception of how it happened. I definitely wake up in cold sweats thinking, ‘S***, I need to cut that. What was I thinking?” There are times when I really want to censor a lot of it but then I just think, ‘Well then, why the hell am I doing it?'”

On her “Pitch Perfect” co-stars, she says: “[They’re like family] not in the cheesy sense. In the truest sense. We didn’t choose each other, but if anyone tried to say anything against one of us, none of us would stand for it. We have a group text, everyone texts, ‘Love you guys, miss you so much, etc.’, while I’m trying to think of a joke to text, because I’m not so great with sincerity. I’m like, ‘Get away from me.’ It’s not that I don’t love them, it’s just that’s not in my personality.’

In addition, Kendrick admits that she reads magazine interviews with some of her peers and doesn’t always agree with the headlines. “Every time I see a colleague of mine interviewed and the headline implies that within the article you’ll find her secret to happiness, I’m like, ‘I know her! She’s a great girl and she’s smart and fierce and passionate and all these things… but she doesn’t have her s*** together.’ So the idea that she’s got the secret to happiness is a f***ing strange thing. Sorry, I’m cursing a lot.”
