The incident allegedly occurred roughly 12:30 A.M. on July 20. A driver of a BMW struck the centre divider after allegedly swerving to avoid a head on collision with Rodman, who is said to have been driving on the wrong side of the freeway. The two allegedly had a brief conversation, before Rodman reportedly left without exchanging information.

Officer Florentino Olivera recommended to Orange County prosecutors that Rodman be charged for a felony hit-and-run and driving the wrong way on a freeway.
