“Ocean’s 8” is firming up its cast, with Warner Bros. announcing that the upcoming spinoff of the classic Vegas heist flick “Oceans Eleven” has assembled its lineup of female stars, and it’s an impressive one.
Joining previously announced stars Cate Blanchett and Sandra Bullock will be an all-star roster of women, reports Deadline, including Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter and Awkwafina (a.k.a. rapper/actress Nora Lum, who recently appeared in “Neighbors 2”).

However, the cast is still one star shy of the title’s number eight, and rumour has it the studio is very open to cameos from the cast of the original trilogy (which itself was a remake of the Rat Pack classic from 1960), that starred George Clooney, Matt Damon and Brad Pitt.
Gary Ross (“The Hunger Games”) will direct “Ocean’s 8”, while Steve Soderbergh (who directed all three films in the trilogy) and Clooney will return as producers.
