Having some experience with casting notices, “My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” creator, star, writer, general girl Friday, Rachel Bloom is blasting a casting website for its problematic casting notices.

“Here’s a little taste of what it’s like to be an actress searching for your next role,” Bloom captioned a screenshot of the email.

The casting announcement in question is looking for “a pretty girl to be our lead actress” suggesting she be “petite or thin” with an “introverted personality”.

Surprising? No. Vomit-inducing? Definitely.

And it seems Bloom agrees, flipping the switch on the medieval practice, re-writing role descriptions for characters from her show with a decidedly “male gaze.”

“Here’s the casting breakdown for the male characters of #CrazyExGirlfriend written with a male gaze,” Bloom captioned a screenshot of her descriptions.

Ranging from “so on point it makes our head hurt” to “snortingly hilarious” (that’s really the only way we could describe the noises made while reading them) Bloom’s descriptions are bang-on.

From Josh “he’s a 10 and he knows it” Chan to Greg Serrano, who could apparently make you hungrier than “an Instagram worthy avocado toast” to “a piece of beef jerky that you dream about the night you’re fasting for Yom Kippur,” we have a feeling that Bloom’s descriptions might actually hail more people than the tired, stereotypical fodder casting agencies are actually using.
