If there’s ever a remake of “Mommie Dearest”, give Hugh Grant a call.

The British actor recites the legendary “wire hangers” monologue from the 1981 cult film as part of W magazine’s on-going Casting Call video segments.

The “Florence Foster Jenkins” actor admits he hasn’t seen the film but should have, gleefully adding, “I have the feeling I’m going to be rather good.”

Based on the memoir of Christina Crawford, daughter to screen icon Joan Crawford, “Mommie Dearest” dramatizes the traumatic and abusive relationship between Christina and her adoptive mother.  With Faye Dunaway as screen-queen Crawford, the movie has earned its cult status thanks to its campy nature and over-the-top performances.
