Paul Walker may very well be irreplaceable in the venerable Fast and Furious action franchise, but producers appear to have found the next best thing.
UK paper The Daily Mail is reporting that Paul’s younger brother Cody will be a regular cast member in all future Fast and Furious sequels, portraying an entirely new character.
The 25-year-old stuntman-turned actor filled in for his late brother in the recently-shot Fast and Furious 7, working as a body double on Paul’s unfinished scenes.
“The producers were really grateful that he stepped in to help them finish this last film,”; a source confirmed to the Daily Mail. “It would be a tribute to Paul that Cody carries on the Walker name in the Fast and Furious movies.”;
Despite Paul’s untimely death last fall, Universal Studios is said to be committed to an 8th — and possibly 9th and 10th — installment of the multi-billion dollar car racing series.
Fast and Furious 7 will hit theatres in April 2015.
