This week marks the launch of Rolling Stone’s new spinoff site, RollingStoneCountry. And to call attention to this bold new endeavour, the magazine (should we now call it Rolling Stone Classic?) is concurrently releasing a special country music issue. It hits newsstands this Friday, with a split cover showcasing the ultra-talented Miranda Lambert.
In addition to that gorgeous photo you see above, the magazine features an extensive interview with the 30-year-old country star, who dishes on everything from celebrity crushes to her fairytale marriage to Blake Shelton.
First off, the modesty. “I’m a country girl at heart,”; Miranda says. “It’s great to be on the cover of magazines; after four hours of glam, everybody looks great. But it’s not who I am every day.”;
Despite those country roots, Miranda may surprise you with her musical tastes. Specifically, the fact she’s the world’s biggest Beyoncé fan. “[I’m] a little bit of a stalker,”; she confesses. “I sat behind her at the Grammys last year. My manager was sitting with me, and he was like, ‘Tap her on the shoulder!’ … So I was like, ‘Hey, hi…’ and she was so, so sweet. She was like, ‘I love you and your husband!’ I was like, ‘No! Just me!'”;
And speaking of her famous husband, Miranda gives a few insights into what makes their relationship so successful. “We can be really sarcastic with each other, but we know when to be really sweet too,”; she says. “We really don’t fight much at all – he’s very laid-back, and he’d rather not fight than fight. I’m definitely the more irritable one. But when it’s time to call me on my sh*t, he will.”;
