Kanye West has a personal invite to attend Werner Herzog’s film school.
The legendary German filmmaker behind cinematic classics like “Fitzcarraldo” and documentaries “Grizzly Man” and “Cave Of Forgotten Dreams”, has high praise for West’s “Famous” music video. Website The Daily Beast asked Herzog to analyze and dissect West’s controversial music video depicting wax figures of nude celebs like Taylor Swift and Donald Trump in bed with the rapper.
While Herzog might not know who West is, calling him Kane at one point in the video, the director is intrigued by what he sees. Herzog praises the film’s storytelling remarking, “I have never seen anything like this.”
He continues to analyze the video by “a guy out there in a world of rappers”, pondering the backstories of the naked figures in bed, calling it “very good stuff.” Herzog is so impressed with the video that he says he would invite West to attend his film school if he were to apply with “Famous”.
It’s not just the video that gets Herzog’s seal of approval. West’s lyrics get the thumbs up in what the iconic filmmaker calls a “very well-done rap.”
