Latoya Jackson is engaged, telling People magazine that her longtime boyfriend and business partner Jeffré Phillips popped the question during a Hawaiian vacation last year.
As Latoya admits, the proposal came as a complete show, and “it wasn’t a fast yes.”; As she reveals, she knew something was up when she saw Jeffré’ had sprinkled a path of rose petals and gardenias on the way to their hotel balcony, where he surprised her with a 17.5-carat diamond ring. When he dropped to his knee and proposed, Latoya says, “My heart just stopped. I was in total shock. We’re best friends and we’ve been business partners forever. It was always professional — no one really crossed those boundaries.”;
Latoya is keeping details of the wedding under wraps, but it’s a pretty safe bet the nuptials will be chronicled in the second season of her reality show Life With Latoya, which airs on Oprah’s OWN network. “You have to wait to see the show,”; she teases.
