Dwayne Johnson thanks the cast and crew as “Fast 8” officially wraps production, but there’s one noticeable name missing from his shout-out: Vin Diesel.
After Johnson dissed Diesel online and a war of words ensued with the “Fast 8” family choosing sides, it seems the actor is ready to move on to his next project.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Johnson shares his thanks to the film’s director and crew, singling out some of his co-stars for special recognition including Scott Eastwood and Tyrese Gibson. Gibson was quick to steer clear of the controversy on his own social accounts, refusing to take sides, though he did post a photo of himself with Diesel. Johnson singled him out with an apparent inside-joke in his thank you post.
“Tyrese Gibson you still have the biggest smile and forehead I’ve ever seen,” he wrote, adding a smiley face emoji. He continued, “And a huge THANK YOU to our hard working production crew – the backbone of our business. Your kind words meant a lot to me last night – thank you! In the end, we all rallied, as great teams do, kicked a$$ and will deliver an amazing movie to the world. Proud of our entire FAST FAMILY.”
Meanwhile, Johnson’s “Fast 8” co-star Jason Statham is teasing the bigger and better action in the sequel. Watch below.
