Viewers finally got the “Big Brother” eviction they’ve been waiting for when Paulie Calafiore was sent packing on Thursday, and the polarizing contestant opens up to ET Canada about being the most recent houseguest to get the boot.
While Paulie had a feeling this would be his week to go, did he think things could have gone differently? “I was expecting a back door situation which in actuality would have been the best-case scenario for me because I would have been sitting up there next to someone else that I would have been able to stay in the house with,” he tells us. “It was a well-played move to put me up against Corey and keep me there because any other scenario I would have still be in the BB house.”
He also talks about his showmance with Zakiyah, which had its ups and downs, and he’s circumspect when it comes to what could happen when he faces her in the jury. “Honestly, I expect us to talk the way two adults would talk,” he says. “Whatever happens, happens. You can’t control life so I try to only control what is controllable and never worry about the rest.”

Even though he didn’t make it as far as his brother, Cody, did back in season 16, he still thinks his bro would be proud of the way he played the game. “The way the Calafiore clan rolls is that we support each other no matter what and we are proud of each other no matter what happens,” he says, “good or bad.”
With the house left in a serious state of flux after his departure, does he have any guesses as to who’ll be placed on the block next week? “The house was in shambles when I left so it really depends who wins the HOH,” he admits. “If Corey or Nicole wins – Victor and Paul will go up. If Michelle or Paul wins – Corey and Nicole will go up. If James or Natalie wins – who knows?”
