After five seasons in the cast of Saturday Night Live, Nasim Pedrad thinks it’s time to say so long to the long-running sketch-comedy series.
The reason: she’s in the cast of a hot new sitcom called Mulaney, which will air on Global in the fall.

As Nasim said during a Q&A panel for Mulaney this weekend, she’d love to be able to do both shows, but the logistical challenges (Mulaney films in L.A. while SNL is in New York) are just too difficult to overcome.
“I haven’t heard any official word so far [about SNL], but I love this show so much,” she said of the new comedy, which stars SNL writer John Mulaney as an aspiring standup comic. “I have an apartment in L.A. and, as far as I know, I’m in L.A. now.”
Although John Mulaney noted, earlier in the panel, that Nasim was able to work on both shows when production of Mulaney overlapped with SNL, she doesn’t think that’s realistic in the long run. “I think we’re all in with this show,”; she said.
According to Buzzfeed, a spokesperson for NBC says no casting decisions have yet been made about SNL“s upcoming 40th season.
