The legacy of Second City and its beloved TV offshoot SCTV will live on thanks to an innovative new multi-platform project that will integrate digital media with network television, with Global announcing plans for The Second City Project.
According to Global’s announcement, this new initiative will follow the “evolution of a comedy sketch from its inception in the writers’ room to the final produced piece,”; with viewers able to watch the progression of each sketch along the way. Once completed, the short-form sketches will air on GlobalTV.com and the Global Go app, and will ultimately air on TV as a series of specials on Global.
The sketches will be led by Second City alum Bob Martin (Slings & Arrows), who’ll be seen later this summer starring opposite Kim Catrall in Sensitive Skin.
Look for The Second City Project to come your way in fall 2014.
