Whether you know him as Arthur “The Fonz’ Fonzarelli from Happy Days, or as scene-stealing lawyer Barry Zuckerkorn on Arrested Development, one thing’s for sure: Henry Winkler is no stranger to memorable TV roles.

So it shouldn’t surprise you the 68-year-old actor/producer is receiving an award of excellence at the 2014 Banff World Media Festival, Canada’s premiere conference for all things TV and TV related.

During tonight’s sit-down interview with ET Canada, Henry opens up about his decades of television experience, both in front of and behind the camera. Some highlights:

“Producing came out of necessity,”; Henry says of his long-ago decision to diversify his industry resume. “I was not getting a lot of acting roles because the Fonz was done and people only saw me as that character. So I could either fade away into the sunset or I could start doing it a different way. And I started to produce.”;

And rest assured, it’s been far more than just a side job: Henry has over 35 production credits to his name, from sitcoms to TV movies to ABC Afterschool Specials.

“If you put all the episodes of television that I’ve produced and you put them back to back you have 19 years of television,”; Henry notes. “That’s pretty amazing.”;
