We’ve seen slain characters return from the dead plenty of times on “Game of Thrones”, so why not Khal Drogo?
That’s what fans are wondering due to the Instagram of actor Jason Momoa, who played the Dothraki leader until the character was killed off in the show’s first season.
Lately, however, Momoa has been posting photos from Ireland, where filming of “Game of Thrones” takes place — including this one of himself and “GoT” exec producers D.B. Weiss and David Benioff enjoying a pint in a Dublin pub.
“Drinking mothers milk With my brothers @captainriff dan and david,” he writes in the caption. “Love ya GOT greatest show on earth ALOHA DROGO”
Even more intriguingly, Momoa has taken to using the hashtag #ALOHADROGO; Aloha is used as both hello and goodbye, so could this mean we’ll be seeing Khal Drogo return in the upcoming seventh season, currently in pre-production? Will the character return via dark magic, or perhaps merely in a flashback? Or is the whole thing simply a coincidence that finds Momoa vacationing in Ireland and catching up with his former bosses?
We’ll have to wait awhile to find out; filming on season seven won’t take place until this winter, with HBO eyeing a summer 2017 return.
In the meantime, we’ll be seeing plenty of Momoa in the months to come, with the actor having wrapped production on Canadian-made miniseries “Frontier” and reportedly filmed his parts as Aquaman on the upcoming “Justice League” movie in advance of a standalone “Aquaman” flick.
