Is Lil Wayne ready to end his rap career?

That’s what many are wondering after the rapper issued a cryptic tweet hinting that he’s ready to pack it in, with the timing of the tweet coming mere hours after Lil Wayne’s Miami home was surrounded by cops in a police raid triggered by a 911 call reporting a shooting at the home.

The 911 call, however, subsequently turned out to be a hoax, notes The New York Daily News.

In his first tweet, do we sense a little sarcasm?

Lil Wayne followed that up by hinting at retirement, writing: “I AM NOW DEFENSELESS AND mentally DEFEATED & I leave gracefully and thankful I luh my fanz but I’m dun”

Later, he issued a couple more tweets telling fans he “ain’t lookin’ for sympathy, just serenity,” and adding, “I’m good y’all, don’t trip.”

It didn’t take long for fellow hip-hop artists Chance the Rapper and Missy Elliot to tweet their support:

These tweets were followed by messages of encouragement from Drake and Chris Brown, who each took to Instagram to lend their unconditional support and admiration:
