Britney Spears has had enough of tabloid lies.

Spears’ lawyer issued a stern warning to In Touch magazine after the publication notified her rep of an upcoming slanderous story, TMZ reports.

According to In Touch, the singer displayed erratic behaviour as she prepared for last month’s comeback performance at the MTV Video Music Awards. Spears was allegedly “talking and laughing to herself and using a British accent,” the publication claimed.

The star’s lawyer wrote the letter stating that the report was ”utterly false, highly defamatory and completely offensive to Ms. Spears.”

A source close to Spears’ camp revealed that the pop princess is sick of “made-up” stories and is prepared to take on the magazine, as well as many others, if they continue spreading disparaging lies about her, especially given how hard she’s worked to repair her reputation.

As TMZ noted, Spears is prepared to sue if the magazine insists on publishing the story.
