A couple of important due dates are on Susan Sarandon’s summer calendar. The first: her latest comedy, Tammy — starring Melissa McCarthy — hits theatres on July 2.
The second: Susan’s daughter Eva Amurri Martino is expecting a baby girl with husband Kyle Martino in August. Which means the Oscar-winning actress will soon be taking on a brand new role: grandmother.
Speaking with People, Susan says she’s more than thrilled to embrace the title. “I’m very excited to be a grandmother,”; the 67-year-old admits. “I’m making my way to L.A. and cleared August and most of September to be with her.”;
As to what kind of grandparent Susan plans on being, fear not — she’s got it all planned out. “I’m going to follow all my daughter’s rules, but behind her back I’m going to break them and spoil the baby because I think that’s what grandmothers are for.”;
And yes, the wee one’s name is already picked out — although Susan is remaining lipped. “It’s not a vegetable, a city or a place,”; she says, coyly. “It’s a real name, but it’s unusual. I really like it.”;
