Congratulations are in order (and not just for Natalie Portman’s buzzworthy new film!)
ET Canada can confirm that Natalie Portman and husband, Benjamin Millepied, are expecting their second child.
Debuting her growing baby bump at the red carpet premiere of her latest film “Planetarium” at the 73rd Venice Film Festival, the actress was glowing in a blush pink one-shouldered gown with a long train.
Reports suggest that the actress, who is notoriously private about her personal life, wasn’t keeping her burgeoning bump a secret either! An onlooker told Us Weekly that Natalie, 35, was openly rubbing her belly at the red carpet event.
The pair met on set of the 2010 film “Black Swan” and already share a son, 5-year-old Aleph.
Portman recently told The New York Times magazine T how stepping behind the camera for her directorial debut made her realize how maternal the role can be.
“I think being a mother made me realize how maternal the role of director is,” Portman says. “It made me much calmer under stress because there’s that weird parent thing you develop, that when things get really bad, your voice gets calm and your blood pressure slows and you can make everything OK again. And things get bad and stressful easily on films.”
Next up, the actress will be bringing her new film to the Toronto International Film Festival. She and co-star Lily-Rose Depp are scheduled to hit the carpet Saturday night at Roy Thomson Hall.
