Butler stopped by ET Canada’s Nespresso Festival Central Lounge with Cheryl Hickey on Monday to discuss the challenges of taking on an emotionally-complex role in the film, which will have its world premiere at TIFF on Wednesday.
“You hope to tell this story and it will impact people in that way,” Butler says of the heavy-hitting drama. “Everybody from time to time, you let life pass you by, and I think this movie in a lot of ways is about stopping and appreciating the magic and healing in everything.”
“Appreciate that work is not everything in your life,” he tells ET Canada.
