One of the highlights of each season of “The Simpsons” is the annual Halloween-themed “Treehouse of Horror” episode, and the 28th season will bring viewers a blast from the past: Frank Grimes, Homer’s power-plant nemesis who, driven crazy by the Simpson family patriarch, wound up accidentally killing himself by grabbing some high-voltage power lines.
Grimes (voiced by “Simpsons” cast member Hank Azaria) will be returning from the grave in this special “Treehouse of Horror”, which will also have the distinction of being the series’ milestone 600th episode.

As “Simpsons” showrunner Al Jean tells Entertainment Weekly, “Grimey” will be a ghost, and will join forces with Sideshow Bob and and two other characters over their shared hatred of the first family of Springfield. “They’re forming a sinister squadron of Simpsons enemies to try to kill the Simpsons,” divulges Jean. “If that doesn’t make people tune in, I don’t know what else we can say,” adding that even after all these years Grimes is “certainly madder at Homer than ever.”
For old times sake, feel free to relive Frank Grimes’ final moments from way back in season eight:
