Paris Jackson In Tears, Talks Past Suicide Attempt: ‘So Much Hatred In The World’

An emotional Paris Jackson called out online bullies in a heartbreaking video posted to her Instagram.

In the now deleted video, the daughter of the late Michael Jackson tackled issues of cyberbullying, her past suicide attempt and defended Justin Bieber and Sofia Richie against haters.

The video has since been re-posted on YouTube, and shows the 18-year-old describing the challenges of facing online harassment: “I don’t understand how there can be so much hatred in the world right now… I’ve tried sticking up for myself. I’ve tried the whole blocking the haters thing, not reading the comments, I’ve tried a lot of things. Ignoring it. But it’s hard.”

Jackson discussed how online bullying almost cost her a chance at life: “When I was 14 I got so much hatred that I tried to kill myself and I took, like, a two-year break from social media and then people asked me to come back, to make my Instagram public again, so I did. And nothing changed! I’m just tired of it. I’m just really, really tired. And, I mean, I know I’m not the only one.”

She stayed a a residential facility in 2013 after her suicide attempt and now attends AA meetings.

The young celebrity also defended fellow stars Justin Bieber and Sofia Richie: “Justin Bieber went into a downward spiral because everybody that he dates gets so much hate… I have known his girlfriend, Sofia, since I was like 12 or 13. She’s one of the sweetest girls in the world and people are telling her to kill herself! I mean we’re human beings, man! We got hearts and brains and feelings, and when you say damaging things like that to people, it f**ks ’em up.”

Jackson also addressed the Bieber drama on Twitter, saying:

And acknowledged backlash on her official Instagram: “Looks like I’m the villain now. Didn’t know defending myself was a crime. My dearest apologies. Guess my career’s over lol…”
