American soccer fans partying at a sports bar in Recife, Brazil last night were treated to a surprise visit from Anchorman star Will Ferrell, who showed up to the venue dressed up in an American soccer uniform and pretended that he had been recruited as a replacement player in today’s game versus Germany.

“I’m so honoured to be playing tomorrow,”; Ferrell told the crowd. “I’m not going to lie to you: I’m not in the best shape. But I will try my best, and if the game gets close, I will bite. I will bite every German player if I have to.”;
In the end, Ferrell did not play in today’s game, and the U.S. lost to Germany 1-0.
