Duchess Kate is spreading a message of hope and inspiration to teenagers during a recent visit to a school in London, offering some words of encouragement to a 15-year-old student.
According to People, Kate and Prince William were visiting Steward’s Academy on in Harlow, England, as part of their Heads Together mental health awareness campaign, and spoke with the students.
A 15-year-old named Hannah gave a speech in front of the royal couple, later meeting Duchess Kate after the speech and admitting she was nervous when delivering the speech. “The princess said to me that I should always keep performing and I should never give up on my dreams,” Hannah told People. “That is going to stay with me for the rest of my life.
She added: “I think the fact that they came here is going to help a lot of people be able to speak up about how they’re feeling.”
Another student who gave a speech, 12-year-old Claudia, discussed her meeting with the royals. “It was amazing meeting [Will and Kate],” she told People. “They said to keep doing what we’re doing and not give up and not listen to what other people say.”
