It’s nice to see even rappers can get by with a little help from their friends, as Kanye West stepped in for Drake at the London Wireless Festival.

When Drake cancelled his headlining London and Birmingham appearances due to illness, Kanye subbed in for him in London after headlining the event himself on Friday night.

“My homeboy Drake can’t be here but we still gotta rep for him tonight,”; he said before performing brief versions of Drake hits “Headlines,”; “We Made It”; and “All Me.”;

The night was not without controversy as Kanye was booed during a 20-minute rant while performing the song “Runaway”; — he criticized the paparazzi and one photographer in particular whom he claims targets celebrities when they are at their lowest.

At one point during the performance he addressed the crowd again saying:

“Most of y’all won’t believe this but I’m actually very shy in real life. I work one year on 12 songs. If you’re really shy then what kind of song would you need to get on stage? You’d need a Kanye West song.”;
