We’ve seen Sir Patrick Stewart go where no one has gone before as captain of the starship Enterprise on “Star Trek: The Next Generation”, but the second season of his Starz comedy “Blunt Talk” will see 76-year-old thespian doing something he’s never done before in his lengthy acting career: dress in drag.
In “Blunt Talk”, Stewart plays eccentric news anchor Walter Blunt, and the new season will see Blunt and his faithful butler Harry (Adrian Scarborough) attending a party dressed as women, something he admits was a first for him.
“I think I looked rather glamourous,” Sir Patrick tells Entertainment Weekly, adding that his wife helped him learn how to walk in high heels. While filming the episode, he posted some photos from the makeup chair on Twitter, leading many to note a keen resemblance to Helen Mirren.
The second season of “Blunt Talk” will make its Canadian premiere exclusively on shomi in November; in the meantime, check out this sneak peek at the new season:
