The athletic human form comes in a vast assortment of shapes and sizes. Want proof? Pick up a copy of ESPN The Magazine’s sixth annual Body Issue. Mind you, we suggest not reading it on the bus ride home from work: there’s a whole lotta nudity going on.

For starters, the issue consists of six distinct covers (collect ’em all!), each featuring a professional athlete in the (implied) buff. There’s Michael Phelps, Venus Williams, Marshawn Lynch, Prince Fielder, Jamie Anderson, and Serge Ibaka.

And that’s just the beginning: the special edition showcases 22 sports icons in total, each one tastefully posing sans clothing.

“This year’s collection of exceptional athletes and stunning photography showcases an array of sports and body types,”; explains editor in chief Chad Millman. “It inhabits our mission to pay tribute to these athletes’ bodies and all they are capable of.”;

Also making the cut: Olympic bronze-medal-winning bobsledder Aja Evans, professional surfer Coco Ho, boxer Bernard Hopkins, cliff diver Ginger Huber, Olympic hockey player Hilary Knight, WNBA All-Star Angel McCoughtry, and X Games husband and wife team Travis Pastrana and Lyn-Z.

ESPN The Magazine’s sixth annual Body Issue hits newsstands this Friday.
