Daniel Craig is still very much the first choice to play James Bond, according to the series’ executive producer.
Callum McDougall, who has produced nine Bond films reveals that producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson are still hoping Craig will return to the 007 role, stating he’s “absolutely the first choice,” BBC reports.
“I know they’re hoping for him to come back,” McDougall says in an interview with BBC’s Radio 4 Today programme on Friday.
Craig infamously told Time Out he’d rather “slash his wrists” than return for another outing as the suave super spy, though earlier this year, a source told ET Canada that Craig’s decision to leave Bond behind had not been finalized.
When McDougall was questioned over who would be the next Bond, he insisted that the role would “absolutely” go to Craig should he wish to sign on for the next Bond film.
