As we brought to you earlier, Justin Bieber has dodged a legal bullet by receiving a misdemeanour vandalism charge for allegedly egging his neighbour’s home last January. The decision came at the discretion of the L.A. County District Attorney’s office, which opted to bypass potential felony charges — a far more serious option.
Justin has accepted a plea deal to settle the charge. In addition to paying $80,900 in damages, the pop singer must complete 12 weeks of anger management sessions and perform five days of community labour. He’s also required to remain at least 100 yards from the victim’s family.
Last, Justin now faces two years of formal probation. Among other things, this amounts to regular check-ins from a probation officer. As well, he’ll be required to notify the court every time he sets foot outside the United States. Bottom line: eggs and throwing apparently don’t mix.
In response to these new developments, Justin’s camp has issued the following statement: “Justin is glad to get this matter resolved and behind him. He will continue to move forward focusing on his career and his music.”;
