After a quiet day of celebrations with their kids in Victoria, B.C. on Thursday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge set off to Haida Gwaii on Friday for an incredible few hours of picturesque sightseeing.
The second last day of the Royal Tour saw Prince William and Kate Middleton visit the northern coast of British Columbia, where they met with Haida Nation members and paddled their way in a canoe to Skidegate’s Haida Heritage Centre and Museum.
Kate Middleton took to the waters in Smythe’s “Duchess Blazer”, which she paired with a pair of dark denim and brown, suede cowboy boots. Smythe designers Andrea Lenczner and Christie Smythe shared their excitement over Middleton’s selection in a statement released on Friday. “We are thrilled to be part of the Duchess’ wardrobe once again for the Canadian Royal Visit,” they wrote. “We design with a woman like Kate Middleton in mind: tailored and effortlessly chic. Needless to say we are delighted that Her Royal Highness has included Smythe in her visit to Canada.”
After a short performance from local children, Will and Kate opened the new Haida Gwaii Hospital and Care Centre.
And no day out on the fresh waters of northern B.C. would be complete without a quick session of fishing. The Royals were naturals— as expected— at the outdoor sport!
