Buddy “The Cake Boss” Valastro reached out to police and firefighters on social media this week after his boat and passengers were caught in New York Harbour’s thick fog.
A clear day suddenly turned extremely foggy before Valastro, his wife, children and relatives could return to their home state of New Jersey. “Next time we go out at night need to check the forecast #mywifewantstokillme,” the “Boss”; wrote.
In another Instagram photo, the famous baker was pictured posing with one of his rescuers. “Want to thank my friends at the nypd and FDNY for coming to help me in my family stuck in the fog in the Hudson towing us in you guys rock,” he captioned the post.
Valastro and his family were stranded close to an hour on the Hudson River. “The Ambrose Channel is a particularly hazardous area,” said rescuer Chris Tucker. “It’s like driving blind in fog like that,” he added.
Thankfully, no passengers were harmed in the during the rescue, however one of the children onboard did suffer from sea sickness.
