Keanu Reeves is back as former hitman John Wick in the new trailer for “John Wick: Chapter 2”.
The surprising action-packed hit of 2014 saw the ex-hitman come out of retirement on a brutal revenge mission against the gangsters that took everything – including his dog – from him. Now, Wick is heading to Rome in the slick-looking sequel which will hit theatres on February 10.
Reeves will once again be joined by his “John Wick” co-star John Leguizamo as Laurence Fishburne, Ruby Rose, Common and Ian McShane join the cast of the crime thriller. Director Chad Stahelski is also making a return for the sequel. The director recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly, revealing that the new film will dig into Wick’s past.
“We wanted to create a little bit of glitz,” Stahelski says. “We thought about expanding it over to where the Wick world comes from, which would be a lot deeper into the past, which has more of a European vibe. We thought about all the cities we could go to, and because we have a certain kind of style with the suits, and the etiquette, we just thought Italian style and sensibility was best suited for our film. So, we went and shot in Rome.”
