After struggling through two difficult pregnancies with her children River Rose and Remington Alexander, Kelly Clarkson refuses to have more kids.
The “Heartbeat Song” singer insisted that her husband Brandon Blackstock get his tubes tied after giving birth to her second child, she revealed on “The Jenny McCarthy Show” on Thursday.
Not only did Blackstock get “fixed” but Clarkson herself opted to get her tubes tied as well. “I was literally pregnant with Remi, and I was like, ‘You are getting fixed. This will never happen to me again,'” Clarkson told McCarthy. “If something happens, it’s a miracle of God. I literally told my OBGYN on the table while open, ‘If I get pregnant again, I will find you!'”
Clarkson went on to dispel the fairytale aura surrounding the “magical” nine months of pregnancy, telling McCarthy that both of her turns have been “horrible.”
“Nothing is beautiful, nothing is magical,” Clarkson continued. “Whatever, you’re that person that gets that pregnancy, good for you. But I will remind my children every day of their lives what I [went through].”
Clarkson previously told CBS that she experienced “all-day sickness” and “had to get IVs” during her last pregnancy, and on Thursday, the “American Idol” alum went on to relive the stressful time with McCarthy once more.
“I was, like, hospitalized both pregnancies,” she continued. “And then I thought, I wanted another little buddy [for River]. I didn’t want a kid to just be an odd man out because I felt like that a lot. I wanted her to have somebody her age, like when we’re traveling. And so I thought, ‘OK, we’ll just do it again.’ I was like, ‘There’s no way it can happen again.’”
“But it was worse,” she added. “Remi’s pregnancy was worse than River’s.”
