The cast of The Wonder Years reunited this morning on Good Morning America, and the former stars of the still-beloved dramedy had a lot to say about the show, which will soon be making its debut on DVD for the very first time.

Viewers will recall one of the show’s most iconic moments: the first kiss between teenage protagonist Kevin Arnold (Fred Savage) and his longtime crush Winnie Cooper (Danica McKellar). One thing we didn’t realize, however, is that the onscreen kiss was actually the first-ever kiss for both young actors.

“The one good thing about getting your first kiss on camera is that you know for sure it’s going to happen,”; said Danica.

“It was terrifying, we were both scared and nervous,”; added Fred. “But all that stuff was very real and all those things that happened on the show, all grew out of something very real that was going on between us or in our lives.”;

While Fred continued in show business (he’s now a producer and director), costar Josh Saviano left show business (he’s now a successful lawyer). Unfortunately, his absence from the screen led to a bizarre rumour that refuses to go away — that Josh grew up to become shock-rocker Marilyn Manson.

“I think it really was the very first Internet rumour and because of that it doesn’t die,”; said Josh. Added Danica: “I get asked if he’s Marilyn Manson every week.”;

The entire series of The Wonder Years (containing all the original music) is set for release in the fall.
