According to Vogue, the former One Direction band member is set to design a ZAYN X VERSUS capsule collection for the Versus Versace brand, which will debut next spring before its official release in May, in collaboration with the Italian label’s vice president and chief designer, Donatella Versace.

Malik appeared front row at the Versus Versace spring/summer ’17 runway show during London Fashion Week, where he was dressed head to toe in the fashion house’s new designs alongside Hadid, who debuted her collection with Tommy Hilfiger at New York Fashion Week last month.

Speaking of the new collaboration, which will feature both menswear and womenswear designs, Malik said, “I think Versus has always been a very cool brand. It’s a great brand for me and for people in my generation. I’ve always wanted to design clothes, and there’s no brand I’d rather design for than Versus. The bonus is that I get to collaborate with Donatella, whom I love and admire. I know we’ll create something amazing.”

Similarly, Versace praised Malik for being “one of the most exciting personalities on the world stage right now.” She added, “When we first met, he told me how much he loves fashion. I thought it would be fantastic to collaborate on a new collection together. And, given Zayn’s huge fan base around the world, I expect there will be a lot of excitement about what we create together.”

Hadid is known to be a close friend of Versace, featuring in her many campaigns and appearing in the designer’s first Instagram post to her personal page. In addition to designing the new capsule collection, Malik will similarly appear in the brand’s next two advertising campaigns before he takes the design stage.
