Emma Watson’s recent meeting with Sophie Gregoire Trudeau proved to be an “inspiring” one for the UN Goodwill Ambassador.
The British actress, who was in Ottawa recently to meet with Justin Trudeau, hitched a ride on Gregoire Trudeau’s Vespa for a personal tour of the Canadian capital before her meeting with the PM.
Watson shared her experience with her fans on Facebook in celebration of International Day of the Girl on Wednesday: “Definitely a highlight of my year was meeting this person. Who picks you up on a Vespa before your meetings to personally show you why she loves her city and her country?” the women’s rights advocate wrote on Facebook. “It was one of the most free and inspiring mornings I have had all year – not what I expected from someone who is as busy as she must be.”
Watson continued, “she’s a yogi, feminist, artist, advocate, mother, warrior and all round gold hearted person. What a privilege it is to have met her.”
Watson and Gregoire Trudeau were photographed having a great time as they bundled up for the chilly ride through Ottawa.
The post also included a shout out to the Canadian feminist, who opened her official Facebook and Instagram pages on Tuesday.
“She’s now on Facebook too! Sophie Gregoire Trudeau ❤ Bonjour! I’m looking forward to being able to see your adventures and especially witness the work you do on behalf of women and girls….PS she did the driving and we both wore helmets!”
Trudeau was crowned the newest ambassador for the He For She Campaign during Watson’s visit last month.
