Well known for his role as Dom in the “Fast & Furious”; franchise, it’s easy to forget that Vin Diesel has definitely taken on some other “interesting”; characters in his time as a big screen action star. And with the release of Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy”;, the actor’s list is about to get a No. 1 in the “bizarre roles” category as he gets in touch with the roots of his new character, tree-man Groot.
Joining a band of misfits that include Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper and Chris Pratt to save the universe in the latest comic book to big screen adaption, Diesel says that his latest roughneck role got the fast approval of some of his biggest fans, his kids.
“They sent over a book of conceptual art and I opened up to the centre page where all the characters were and I said to the kids “which character do you think Marvel wants daddy to play?’ and they all pointed to the tree,”; he says.

The actor also opened up about lending his voice to the film. “I really enjoyed this,”; Diesel says. “It was a genius concept, something that was win-win all the way around.”;
On the topic of recently wrapping “Fast & Furious 7″, the actor talked about the bittersweet feelings that were felt throughout the cast.
“It will be a very heavy experience in a lot of ways,”; Diesel says about gearing up for his duties still to come from the film.
Adding that although his co-star Paul Walker is gone, he will not be forgotten, “it was obviously a very trying time, when the movie comes out, there will be a sense for the whole world that we honoured a brother… It will be a very special day when “Fast 7′ is released.”;
