Retired Canadian wrestler Trish Stratus has signed on to star in Allan Ungar’s thriller Gridlocked, THR reports.
The former WWE women’s champion will take on the lead role of Gina, a member of a SWAT team, and stars alongside Dominic Purcell, Richard Gunn, Stephen Lang, Danny Glover, Vinnie Jones, and Cody Hackman.
Gridlocked tells the story of a former SWAT leader (Purcell) who is being followed by a pretentious actor (Hackman).
The drama has already begun filming in Toronto and is also slated to shoot in London, Ontario.
“It’s not the first time I have to be a part of the boys club! And, it’s also not the first time I’ll be called on to kick some butt!” Stratus said of her new Gridlocked role. “In all seriousness, I’m so excited about this opportunity, especially to be working alongside such terrific actors.”
