Report: NBC Looking At Reviving ‘Will & Grace’, Preliminary Talks Underway

After a wildly popular election-themed video reuniting the cast of “Will & Grace” became a viral sensation, racking up more than 6 million views on YouTube, both the show’s fans and its cast began discussing the potential of reviving the groundbreaking sitcom.

Suddenly the idea doesn’t seem so far-fetched, with TV Line reporting that NBC is investigating bringing the show back, and has even started “preliminary talks” with the show’s four core cast members — Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally — as well as series creators Max Mutchnik and David Kohan about a revival.

TV Line has contacted an NBC spokesperson, who “decline to comment for this story.”

Meanwhile, both Messing and McCormack have been enthusiastic proponents of bringing “Will & Grace” back to television. “The response has been very overwhelming and really, really heartwarming,” Messing told about the fan reaction to the one-off video, while McCormack said he’d be open to reprising his role: “We’d all be interested to get that call, I think.”
