Bindi Irwin, the daughter of the late Steve Irwin, is speaking out about being making Maxim Australia’s Hot 100 list.
The 18-year-old, who is following in her father’s environmental footsteps as a conservationist, released a statement on the topic of her latest honour which is generating considerable uproar since its announcement.
“Words can’t describe how honoured I am to have been named in the top 10 with this issue of Maxim‘s ‘Hot 100′,” she captioned an Instagram photo of herself looking elegant in an off-the-shoulder gown. “My goal in life is to empower each and every person around the world to embrace themselves inside and out. Beauty is not just found on the outside, it’s the kindness you share with others and the positivity you embrace every day. If your core values revolve around love and light, you are a beautiful person.”
The teen landed in the eighth position on the list, which rounded up the “most gifted and gorgeous Australian women who have impressed – and undressed – this year.”
Many Australian onlookers called out the magazine for including the young girl, who recently turned 18 on July 24 and grew up before the eyes of the nation, alongside lingerie models, actresses and singers who all display sultry images in their daily work.
