Mouths began watering a few months back when Oprah Winfrey announced she was planning to write a cookbook, and now we have our first look at the cover of the upcoming tome, titled Food, Health and Happiness: 115 On-Point Recipes for Great Meals and a Better Life.
If Winfrey’s recent weight loss isn’t enough to clue you in that the cookbook’s focus will be on healthy meals, that title should make that crystal clear.
“As long as I can remember, I’ve been the kind of person who wants to share the things that make life better,” she told People in a statement. “When I come upon something useful, something that brings me pleasure or comfort or ease, I want everyone else to know about it and benefit from it, too. And that is how this cookbook came to be. It’s my life story — the lessons I’ve learned, the discoveries I’ve made — told through food.”
Look for Food, Health and Happiness to hit bookshelves in January 2017.
The recipes, notes People, are the result of collaborations with chefs such as “Top Che” winner Mei Lin and Winfrey’s former personal chefs Rosie Daley and Art Smith, who share recipes for such dishes as “Unfried Chicken” and “Turkey Chili.”
Given some of the photos Winfrey has posted on her Instagram page lately, let’s assume there will be a lot of vegetables involved.
