UPDATE: Former ’24’ Costar Slams Freddie, Defends Kiefer

UPDATE (3:06 pm 7/29/14): One of Kiefer Sutherland’s former 24 cast-mates has stepped forward to refute Freddie Prinze Jr.’s characterization of Kiefer as “unprofessional”; during his “terrible”; time on the show.

Louis Lombardo, who played CTU computer geek Edgar Stiles on 24“s fourth and fifth seasons, has nothing but praise for Kiefer: “My experience with Kiefer was absolutely the opposite. He was one of the most professional actors I’ve ever worked with,”; Lombardi told Us Weekly. “He wanted the best out of everybody. I have nothing but great experiences with him. He’s a gentleman.”;

In fact, Louis suspects the green-eyed monster might be the motivating factor behind Freddie’s allegations. “Maybe he was jealous, maybe Kiefer did something to him — who knows?”; said Louis. “But Kiefer’s one of the most professional and most likable people! Kiefer is the most professional actor. I’m baffled about [that] kid’s comments and baffled why he would say this years later! I’m all for Kiefer. I think he’s a great dude and I have nothing but love for him. Everyone loves him, all the actors around him, the crew. Everyone!”;

UPDATE (5:18pm 7/28/14): Looks like we weren’t kidding when we said this was a feud nobody even knew existed — including Kiefer Sutherland!

Upon hearing the news that merely working with Jack Bauer on 24 was almost enough for Prinze to quit acting, Kiefer Sutherland’s rep told Entertainment Tonight: “Kiefer worked with Freddie Prinze Jr. more than five years ago, and this is the first he has heard of Freddie’s grievances. Kiefer enjoyed working with Freddie and wishes him the best.”;

Did Freddie mistake someone else for the star of the show? One can only speculate…

Here’s a feud nobody even knew existed: Freddie Prinze, Jr. can’t stand Kiefer Sutherland, and admits his experience working with Kiefer on 24 was so awful it nearly drove him to quit acting.

“I did 24, it was terrible. I hated every moment of it,”; Prinze told ABC News while he was at Comic-Con promoting his new Disney XD show Star Wars Rebels. “I just wanted to quit the business after that. So, I just sort of stopped.”;

According to Freddie, “Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world. That’s not me talking trash, I’d say it to his face, I think everyone that’s worked with him has said that… I went and worked for Vince McMahon at the WWE… and it was a crazier job than working with Kiefer.”;

One of the issues, Freddie revealed, was the height difference between him and Kiefer. When he worked with WWE head honcho Vince McMahon, he said, “I didn’t have to take my shoes off to do scenes with him, which they made me do [on 24]. Just put the guy on an apple box or don’t hire me next time. You know I’m 6 feet and he’s 5’4.”;

A rep for Kiefer couldn’t be reached for comment.

Freddie played a CTU agent who worked with Jack Bauer in the 2010-’11 season of 24.
