Johnny Depp has been tapped to appear in the sequel to “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”, reports Deadline — and rumour has it we may even see his top-secret character in the first film, which hits theatres Nov. 18.

The sequel is set to begin filming early next year, with Eddie Redmayne reprising the role as wizard Newt Scamander, and while Deadline confirms that Depp is joining the cast, “no one is saying exactly what role that Depp will play.”

Meanwhile, moviegoers are cautioned to keep a sharp eye out for Depp’s rumoured cameo in “Fantastic Beasts”, which Rowling has said will be the first of five films.
