Adam Levine Tells Ellen DeGeneres About Daughter Dusty Rose: ‘You Basically Named My Kid’

Choosing a baby’s name can be a time-consuming process, fortunately for Adam Levine he had some help.

Dropping by “The Ellen DeGeneres” show, Levine is happy to gush over his one-month old daughter Dusty Rose. One might think naming would come easy to a songwriter, but Levine says it couldn’t possibly be harder: “The name game is a tough game… imagine you’re writing the best song you’ve ever written in your life and you have to name it. It’s really screwed up to actually have to put yourself through that.”

Turns out, however, the Maroon 5 singer was given a generous contribution from DeGeneres. “I think I have a great name and I text it to Ellen and I’m like ‘what do you think?’ She’s like ‘I hate it,'” he explains.

That’s when the television host offers up the name “Dusty” and the rest is history. “You basically named my kid,” says “The Voice” host. “I did name your kid,” DeGeneres quips with a wide smile. The “Ellen” host even surprises the reality competition judge with a mini “The Voice” chair for his baby girl.
