Enrique Iglesias is on the receiving end of a lawsuit launched by a guy claiming to be the singer’s former life coach, who alleges Iglesias stiffed him on a full year’s salary.
According to the Miami Herald, Iglesias is being sued for $550,000 by self-proclaimed “guru to the stars” Doc Delano, who filed the suit in Miami-Dade circuit court, claiming the defendant failed to pay him after agreeing to the half-million-plus salary. Delano — whose real name is Richard Easton — is suing for breach of contract.
The lawsuit claims that he was first contacted by Iglesias in May 2015, alleging the singer was experiencing emotional problems related to his wish to start a family with girlfriend Anna Kournikova while “under the celebrity spotlight.”
After negotiating a fee for six months’ worth of life-coaching and guru-ing, Easton alleges that Iglesias upped the ante by asking about his fees for an entire year, and they settled at $550,000 per annum.
For this hefty salary, Easton claims that Iglesias insisted he be available “day and night,” and he began advising Iglesias immediately.
By June, however, Easton claims he hadn’t received a dime — and still hasn’t.
Easton declined comment when contacted by the Herald; Iglesias is reportedly in France for a gig, and has yet to respond to an email request from the Herald.
